This delightful green tea comes from the Qi Yun mountains west of Huangshan.
Like Huangshan, "Qi Shan" is another famous Taoist sacred site also renowned
for the quality of its green teas. The Qi Shan Mao Feng has a long twisted wiry
dark green leaf, similar in appearance to other famous maofeng teas.

Diana Rosen has written several books on tea and this one contains a useful summary
of green tea recipies, history, health benefits and
general information, which will be of interest to any tea lover. Not an "in depth"
book by any means, but its 160 pages contain a lot of useful & interesting information.

New York 1998.
This 186 page soft cover book was
published in 1998 and is a useful source of information about the extensive
scientific research which has been undertaken into the health benefits of tea,
particularly green tea. The lead author is a Professor of Medical
Chemistry at Kansas University, and also holds a position as Intersearch
Professor at the Victorian School of Pharmacy at prestigious Monash University,
Australia. This book contains an extensive bibliography and would be of
particular interest to readers wishing to undertake further reading of more
detailed nature into the chemistry of tea. The book contains chapters on
such topics as Anti-oxidants, Cancer Prevention, and A Cup a Day Keeps the
Dentist Away, and is full of interesting facts and figures about tea which
are not widely known.
A detailed, if rather technical explanation of the latest scientific research into
Green Tea.

A small format 180 page soft cover
book written by dietitian Nadine Taylor. This book has a reasonably
extensive bibliography, and is written for the general reader. It explains
in an easy to understand manner the various types of green tea and how to
prepare them. One criticism of this book is that the description of the
Chinese green tea categories is outdated. Nevertheless, a useful general
introduction to green tea, the book even contains a chapter of green tea

Press NY 1997.
For the reader with a scientific bent, this 160 page
hard-back contains a wealth of information gleaned from extensive studies by
Japanese scientists. Not for the general reader, this book is nevertheless
an important contribution to our knowledge of the chemical interactions between
the human body and the compounds found in green tea. Being a Japanese
production, the green tea referred to in particular studies is Japanese green
tea, however the results are applicable to all green teas. Includes some
colour plates, among them a cross-section of a rats tooth showing the beneficial
effects of green tea in inhibiting tooth decay! The book was published in
1997 and includes such fascinating topics as Chapter 5 Cancer
Chemoprevention by Green Tea Polyphenols and Chapter 13 Green Tea
Extract as a Remedy for Diarrhoea in Farm Raised Calves - in other words,
everything you always wanted to know about green tea but were afraid to ask!
